The Rotary Club of Rosemount is pleased to announce that Rosemount High School senior Madison Holtze is its April 2014 Student of the Month.

As a Rosemount High School student, Madison is poised to graduate near the top of her class. She has excelled academically and has taken a variety of AP courses, including AP Literature and Composition, AP Psychology and AP Statistics.

During high school, Madison participated in 15 theatre productions.  She enjoys violin and was selected as the violin and vocal soloist in the RHS Marching Band. She has received 17 superior ratings in voice and violin in the state competition and three best of site awards, two in voice and one in french horn. She has also been honored as a vocalist by participating in national, state and regional honor choirs.

She is a Tri-M Music Honor Society representative.  She also teaches piano and violin and enjoys watching her students improve their musical skills.

Madison indicates that her parents have set an example of service for her outside of the classroom. Madison leads in her church, where she mentors younger musicians and leads worship. Madison also traveled to Guatemala to serve through her church, feeding basic meals to needy families and learning about the needs that exist in Guatemala.  She was able to share her gift of music with children there and connected with children through music, despite the language barrier that existed between them.

After graduation, Madison plans to major in vocal performance at New York University, University of Wisconsin–Madison or the University of Minnesota.
