Meet Katie Berkopec, April Student of the Month
The Rotary Club of Rosemount recognized Rosemount High School senior Katie Berkopec as its Service Above Self Student of the Month for April.
Katie is ranked 12th in her class at RHS. She is enrolled in College in the Schools courses and takes honors or Advanced Placement classes in math, history, English and science. She is a member of the National Honor Society and is one of two students at RHS to receive the AAA Award for achievement in academics, athletics and the arts.
Katie has been a girls soccer captain and was selected all conference and academic all section selection. She is a golf captain and plays tenor saxophone in the RHS band. She was selected as a member of the University of Minnesota honor band.
Katie is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and teaches religious education classes at her church. She is a peer tutor and volunteers at Feed My Starving Children, at River Valley Project Explore and as a coach for a 14-year-old soccer team.
Katie plans to attend the University of Wisconsin-Osh Kosh to major in physical education.
