January 2011 Student of the Month

The Rotary Club of Rosemount recognized Rosemount High School senior Billy Hoffman last week as its Service Above Self Student of the Month for January.

Hoffman is an honor roll student enrolled in AP and college-in-schools classes at RHS. He works as an English and Spanish teaching assistant at RHS and is a member of the state champion Irish marching band. He is student council president and a member of the RHS track team.

Outside of school Hoffman is a Cadet Lieutenant Colonel in the Civil Air Patrol USAF Auxiliary, the ranking cadet in the Minnesota wing. In that position he speaks to groups about MN Wing Cadet programs.

Hoffman plays piano at the Apple Valley Senior Center, at the St. Thomas Becket Youth Group and weekly at Fireside restaurant. He also assists in summer Bible school and teaches piano lessons.

The Rotary Club of Rosemount recognizes a Rosemount High School student each month who exemplifies the club's motto, Service Above Self. The club meets at noon Fridays at Fireside.
