Kody's Closet: Rosemount Rotary Club Receives Grant to Benefit Rosemount High School Students
Rosemount Rotary Club has received a grant from its local Rotary district to provide hygiene products for low income students at Rosemount High School.
Rosemount Rotary Club applied for and received a district grant to start a Kody's Closet in Rosemount High School. The closet is a storage unit that is stocked with hundreds of basic hygiene products. The purpose of the closet is to make hygiene products available to students who do not have access to them because of challenging personal circumstances. Students often find themselves in difficult financial and personal situations through no fault of their own. By providing these products in a dignified, private manner, a Kody's Closet allows students to improve self-esteem so they can focus on being successful students.
This grant is just one way that Rosemount Rotary Club partners with the Rosemount community to create educational opportunities in local schools. The club also funds scholarships, recognizes student achievement and facilitates a mentorship program each year. About The District Grant
Rotary Clubs are organized into districts, and Rosemount Rotary Club is part of Rotary District 5960, which includes numerous clubs in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area. District 5960 receives a block grant from Rotary International, and District 5960 is providing a part of the larger block grant to Rosemount Rotary Club to fund startup of the Kody's Closet.
