Today we heard from Mary Hamann-Roland, Dakota County Commissioner.  She services Apple Valley and the western part of Rosemount.
Most people remember her has Mayor Mary as she was the Mayor of Apple Valley for 22 years 10 months.
Mary had a great story beginning as one of 9 children growing up on a farm in Ohio.  Learning to work together and service was instilled in Mary at an early age.
She acknowledged her great relationship with Rosemount Mayor, Bill Droste (a Rosemount Rotarian) and his work.  She recognized Rosemount's Money Magazine recent award at one of the top 50 Best Places to live (which we already knew before the survey).
Mary covered many of Dakota County issues - upcoming transportation projects, public safety & parks.  We learned that 97% of Dakota County's 439,882 residents gave Dakota County an Excellent/Good rating for Quality of Life and that the county taxes have the lowest levy per capita.
Thank you Mary for your service, passion & dedication to Dakota County and Rosemount!
