The Rotary Club of Rosemount is pleased to announce that Rosemount High School senior Olubusola Adams is its February 2016 Student of the Month.

Adams is the third of three children who have all excelled academically. Her sister is currently working on her MBA at Baylor University and her brother is in medical school at the University of Chicago.  Adams and her parents live in Rosemount.

Adams enjoys academics and has taken numerous AP and CIS classes during high school. She has remained on the A honor roll and earned an academic letter each year during high school.

Outside of school, Adams is involved in a variety of activities, including marching band, speech, women’s ensemble, the Irish Gazette (the RHS newspaper), Science Olympiad, National Honor Society, French National Honor Society and Tri-M Honor Society. Adams has also been involved in theater productions and Onstage at RHS. She has participated in both band and choir solo and ensemble contests, earning many superior ratings.

Adams was a section leader in the RHS Marching Band and is currently a captain in both speech and Science Olympiad.  She also serves as an editor for the Irish Gazette and as an executive officer for Tri-M Honor Society.

Adams has also committed to serving others while she has been in school. Through the National Honor Society, she has participated in many service projects, including volunteering at a blood drive, babysitting for teachers during school conferences, and preparing a church for Thanksgiving dinner. As a student ambassador, she gave tours of RHS to new or prospective students and organized meetings to both welcome students and help with their transition.

After high school, Adams plans to attend Kentucky University or the University of Chicago. She plans to major in neuroscience and minor in biomedical engineering. Her goal is to become a neurosurgeon.

Each month during the school year Rosemount Rotary recognizes a student who exemplifies Rotary International’s motto, Service Above Self. The club meets for lunch at noon Fridays at Fireside Restaurant. Guests are welcome.
