The Rotary Club of Rosemount is pleased to announce Rosemount High School (RHS) senior Kyle Weiler, son of Heidi and Dave Weiler, as its February 2012 Student of the Month.

In a spirited presentation to the group, Kyle shared with the Rotary Club of Rosemount that he originally had thought he wanted to go to a performing arts school.

"I couldn't have been more wrong," Kyle said. As a student at RHS, Kyle has been very active in the high school's arts community through participation in the Modern Dance Company, Concert Choir, Chamber Choir, Men's Ensemble, Theater and a variety of other activities and commends his school for its support of art programs.

In addition to his interest in the arts, Kyle is also taking Advanced Placement and Honors courses, is a member of National Honor Society and serves as a teacher's assistant. His hard work and commitment to his studies have earned him a 3.96 GPA.

Outside of school, Kyle enjoys spontaneous adventures, sharing that he and his mom chose to drive to Mount Rushmore one evening for no particular reason other than wanting to go. He also enjoys helping with various community service projects, the color gray, Andes Mints and watching Food Network.

Kyle's extensive arts background and talent have led him on a whirlwind tour of auditions for arts schools across the country - among them The Juilliard School and Tisch School of the Arts - and hopes to start seeing the acceptance letters arrive come April.

Congratulations to Kyle, and well wishes on his future endeavors!
