The Rotary Club of Rosemount is proud to announce its first ever signature fundraising event – the "Irish for a Day Soiree" - supporting the club's service projects benefiting the children and families of Rosemount.

The Irish for a Day Soiree will be held at the Rosemount Community Center at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012. When the doors open at 6:30 p.m., guests can enjoy a DJ and music, 50/50 raffle,  silent auction and cash bar. At 7 p.m., join us for a traditional Irish dinner including corned beef, cabbage, parsleyed potatoes, soda bread, salad and more, followed by a short program and lots of dancing!

"Our club has been in the Rosemount community for a little more than two years now," said Rotary Club of Rosemount President Denise Kniefel. "In that time, we've established some great programs that are already benefiting families in the Rosemount community. We are hopeful this fundraiser will allow us to continue and grow those programs."

Some of the service projects currently being completed by the club include the STRIVE program with Rosemount High School (RHS), which pairs mentors with seniors at RHS; a variety of programs and projects with the Rosemount Family Resource Center; regular clean-ups at the club's adopted park in Rosemount, Central Park; the Armful of Love program; and several other local projects.

"Despite being a club that is new and relatively small, we have ambitious members who aren't afraid to serve in any way they can," said Kniefel. "Our members really believe in Rotary's motto of 'service above self,' and we are  hopeful this fundraiser will help support the work we want to do for children and families in this community."

Tickets for the Irish for a Day Soiree are $45 in advance and $50 at the door. Corporate or large groups interested in purchasing a table of eight for the event may do so for $350. Those wishing to donate silent auction items or purchase tickets may do so by contacting any Rotary Club of Rosemount member or the event organizer, Erin Edlund, at rosemountrotary@gmail.com or 952-261-6133.

"We sincerely appreciate everyone's support of Rotary Club of Rosemount's effort to make our community a better place to live, work and raise a family, " stated Kniefel. "I hope to see many of you at our event!"
