Club's first-ever Irish for A Day Soiree deemed a success!
The Rotary Club of Rosemount wishes to extend a huge thank you to all those who sponsored and supported the club's inaugural Irish for a Day Soiree on Saturday, March 17, 2012, at the Rosemount Community Center.
"I think it is safe to say the event exceeded our expectations in almost every way," said event chair Erin Edlund. "We are a relatively young club with a brand new event, so we weren't sure where things would end up, but the event was a true testament to the spirit of our club and the community."
More than 175 people attended the event, enjoying a silent auction, a traditional Irish meal and a DJ and dancing. Some special highlights of the evening were the Heads or Tails raffle sponsored by Sterling State Bank where Apple Valley resident Jean Chrysler took home a new iPad, and the 50/50 raffle drawing where Minneapolis resident Justin Wylie took home $800 from the $1600 in ticket sales earned by the club.
"It was really a great evening," said Rotary Club of Rosemount President Denise Kniefel. "We are truly grateful to have had such tremendous community support - it is definitely appropriate that all the proceeds from this event will go right back into the community through our service work, and we are hopeful to be able to expand those efforts thanks to the success of this event."
